0.5 FINE ARTS OR ELECTIVE CREDIT - GRADE 9 -12

CLASS FEE - $20.00

This is a foundation level course. Emphasis will be given toward developing basic drawing skills, and introduce students to a variety of art materials and processes through the use of an art book. Students will be developing basic skills, experimentation and creative problem solving to gain confidence in art making and self-expression. This course is a prerequisite for all other art courses

This course continues the study of art 1. This course will expand on the basics and knowledge of different media and techniques. This course will pose creative problems to develop student’s content and self-expression.

This course provides a deeper study of drawing and painting techniques. Using this variety of these techniques to creatively solve problems and develop content and expression they choose.

PREREQUISITE - COMPLETION OF DRAWING AND PAINTING I

This course provides an opportunity to continue the development of drawing and painting skills. Students will consider a broad range of creative problems to solve for personal expression. The artistic statement, creative thinking, and techniques are the focal point of this class.

PREREQUISITE - COMPLETION OF ART I

CLASS FEE - $20.00

This course is an introductory level of ceramics. Students will learn the fundamentals of clay, including the following hand building techniques: pinch, coil, form press and soft slab. You will also learn how to apply creative problem solving skills, personal self-expression/choice through the practice of building with clay

PREREQUISITE - COMPLETION OF CERAMICS I

CLASS FEE - $20.00

At this advanced level of Ceramics, this course has a strong emphasis on visual problem solving of 3-D clay. The focus will be on a continuation of creative growth and personal expression using a variety of hand building and glazing techniques.

PREREQUISITE - COMPLETION OF ART 1

CLASS FEE - $20.00

This course provides a hands-on exploration of sculpture (three-dimensional art). Projects will cover the basic sculpture techniques such as construction, carving, and modeling. This class will explore how the elements and principles of design apply to three-dimensional artwork. Students will use a variety of materials to practice how to creatively problem solve to bring their ideas to life.

PREREQUISITE - COMPLETION OF ART I

In this introductory photography class, students will learn how to use a digital camera, mastering essential technical skills such as adjusting aperture, shutter speed, and ISO settings. You will also learn composition and other art making techniques. Overall, you will learn how to see beauty in the things around you and take good pictures.
