This is an Algebra 1 course combined with Intro to Business (S1) and Principles of Management (S2). The course alternates with Algebra 1 one day and Intro to Business or Management the next. All of the same standards are covered as any other Algebra 1 course but in the context of running a t-shirt manufacturing business. Students are in charge of sales, design, production, and billing for our t-shirt printing business. We use our data from the business and real-world applications to learn the mathematics. "Mathematics with a Purpose" is the goal of this program. This course asks students to be driven in asking questions, working in cooperative groups and learning through a different non-traditional perspective.
Intro to Business

A fun, project based class that gives an overview of the exciting world of Business. This foundational business course is a prerequisite for many of our higher level Business courses. Students will be introduced to topics including: Starting and Operating a Business, Management, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Marketing, and Human Resources, Explore your options in this introductory Business class. Principles of Management

PREREQUISITE - INTRODUCTION TO BUSINESS
Do you want to work in Management? Get paid the BIG BUCKS, Be part of the Overhead, CEO, CFO be the one in charge? Do you want to learn how to Lead, and develop great Leadership skills? This class provides an overview of the principles of management. Emphasis is on the primary functions of planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling with a balance between the behavioral and operational approaches. This class helps run Warrior Enterprises, an actual CHS business run by students for students! Assignments include, individual and group projects, case studies, and more.
It is recommended to take this course following Introduction to Business. This course develops an understanding of entrepreneurship and business management operations. It covers areas on advanced business topics, financial applications and analysis, and employer-employee relationships. Strong emphasis is place on leadership, communications, and managing human resources.
Web Design Foundations

This course will introduce students to designing, creating, editing and maintaining web pages that are easy to use and visually appealing. The use of images, forms, tables, templates, layers and behaviors will be covered. Image editing software will be used to format images for use in webpages.
AP Computer Science Principles

The AP Computer Science Principles course is designed to be equivalent to a first-semester introductory college computing course. In this course, students will develop computational thinking skills vital for success across all disciplines, such as using computational tools to analyze and study data and working with large data sets to analyze, visualize, and draw conclusions from trends. The course engages students in the creative aspects of the field by allowing them to develop computational artifacts based on their interests. Students will also develop effective communication and collaboration skills by working individually and collaboratively to solve problems and will discuss and write about the impacts these solutions could have on their community, society, and the world.

Accounting 1

PREREQUISITE - COMPLETION OF INTRO TO BUSINESS
This course introduces accounting principles for understanding the theory and logic that underlie procedures and practices for business organizations. Major topics include the accounting cycle for service and merchandising companies, internal control principles and practices, notes and interest, inventory systems and costing, and plant and intangible asset accounting. This course builds a basic understanding of manual and automated accounting principles and procedures. Students learn to analyze and record business transactions and prepare financial statements for businesses organized as proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations.
This class does NOT meet the NCAA math requirement.
Adobe InDesign

PREREQUISITE - GRAPHIC DESIGN FOR BUSINESS
Introduces students to InDesign, a page layout program which integrates seamlessly with other Adobe design programs. InDesign delivers creative freedom and productivity to DTP. Class discussions and independent projects supplement hands-on classroom work.
Cybersecurity 1

Cybersecurity I is a course intended to teach students the basic concepts of cybersecurity. The course places an emphasis on security integration, application of cybersecurity practices and devices, ethics, and best practices management. The fundamental skills in this course cover both in house and external threats to network security and design, how to enforce network level security policies, and how to safeguard an organization’s information. Upon completion of this course, proficient students will demonstrate an understanding of cybersecurity concepts, identify fundamental principles of networking systems, understand network infrastructure and network security, and be able to demonstrate how to implement various aspects of security within a networking system.
Legal Environment of Business

Are you interested in Law and Order? This is the class for you! A survey of the American legal system designed to develop an understanding of the fundamentals of business law. We use actual case studies from real life legal cases to analyze situations, and learn how law is applied to a variety of business-related situations. This class also involves group activities related to legal situations and computer simulations based on business activities
Emphasizes public law, regulation of business, ethical considerations, and various relationships existing within society, government, and business. Specific attention is given to economic regulation, social regulation, labor-management issues, environmental issues, and contract fundamentals. This course analyzes the role of law in social, political, and economic change business environments.
STEM Work Based Learning

Internship, Internship, Internship! This class focuses on helping you get a short internship in a career field of interest. Students build on prior knowledge and skills in the program of study to further develop and apply employability and technical skills that prepare them for success in future career and postsecondary education. At the very least students are exposed through Job Shadows, Interviews, and field trips to careers of interest. Get credit for working, and possibly get paid, sounds like a great opportunity!
Business Practicum is a capstone course intended to provide students with the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge learned in previous Business courses within a professional, working environment. In addition to developing an understanding of the professional and ethical issues encountered in the workplace, students learn to refine their skills in problem-solving, research, communication, data analysis, teamwork, and project management. The course is highly customizable to meet local system needs: instruction may be delivered through school laboratory training or through.

Microsoft Office Specialist
Microsoft Office Specialist is a course designed to prepare students to take one or more of the Microsoft Office Specialists exams. Students may prepare to take exams in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, or additional Microsoft products. The course competencies and outline follow those set out by the Microsoft Office Specialist exam.
